LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a burglary near downtown Lincoln early Wednesday morning.

Just before 3:45 a.m., officers were sent to Lobo City Mex — near 27th and R streets — after a passerby noticed a broken glass door.

When officers arrived, LPD said they confirmed that a large brick had shattered the door.

According to the police department, a jewelry display case inside had been broken into, and most of its contents were missing.

LPD said the total estimated loss is $2,000 in damage, along with an unknown amount of jewelry.

Surveillance video shows the person responsible dressed in a brown Carhartt-style coat, black pants, white-and-black Jordan 13s, black gloves, and a black mask.

LPD said the person was driving a darker colored Jeep Wrangler.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600 to remain anonymous.
