Two dead, 20 hospitalized in overnight crash on O Street, Lincoln Police say
LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) – Two women died in a crash on O Street late Sunday night and 20 people were hospitalized according to Lincoln Police.
On Sunday, at 10:47 p.m. a black Ford Taurus was traveling westbound on O Street when it struck a white Toyota Corolla heading eastbound.
As a result of the impact, both vehicles were forced onto the north sidewalk of O Street, west of North 52nd Street.
The vehicles struck a large crowd of people who were watching the “Americruise” event.
Bryan Medical Center confirmed it’s treating a patient involved in this crash in critical condition, and another in serious condition; it’s treated and released eight others.
Two female occupants of one of the involved vehicles have been declared deceased at the scene. A total of 19 other individuals have been transported to area hospitals, including a number of people who were present on the sidewalk area at the time of the crash. https://t.co/ZW6qddGzog

CHI Health confirmed Monday morning that they treated 10 patients, two of whom are still in the hospital.
A portion of O Street, from 48th to 56th Streets, is now back open after being closed for several hours.
Police have not yet provided specific details on the fatal accident.
