Lincoln Police: Michigan man charged after trying to meet up with 14-year-old girl

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Michigan man was arrested in Lincoln on Friday after police say he tried to meet up with an underage girl for sex.

Brad Strickland, 44, of Troy, Mich., was charged with child enticement and lodged in the Lancaster County Jail.

On Tuesday, an investigator with the Lincoln Police Department was working undercover on social media, posing as a 14-year-old girl.

According to LPD, Strickland — using an alias — began messaging the account, asking for photos and offering money.

Strickland also asked to meet for sex and exchanged phone numbers with the account, according to LPD.

On Thursday, Strickland made plans with the girl he believed he was talking with to meet near the Gateway Mall for sex the next day.

On Friday, officers found Strickland’s vehicle at the Comfort Suites near 56th and R streets.

Strickland was arrested near his car around noon, according to LPD.
