Lincoln Police need help finding the driver who took off after hitting a 15-year-old

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department needs help tracking down a driver that it says hit a kid and took off.

We’re told this happened at North 27th and Superior Streets back on Sunday, June 25.

Police say the 15-year-old was trying to cross the intersection around 3:30 p.m., when a Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercury Grand Marquis slammed into him.

It’s described as an older model vehicle that appeared to be light blue or silver colored.

The included photo is just an example of what it may look like.  LPD says the kid is okay.

Police are also requesting the public’s help with a wire theft investigation.

They say it was stolen from Ameritas near 59th and O Streets.  This happened on Monday, June 19 around 1:15 a.m.

Cameras captured an older model white Ford pickup in the area, which you can see in the slide show above.

LPD tells us there aren’t many of these older model vehicles on the roads nowadays.  This one also has a lot of unique markings, including a different colored tailgate that’s possibly wood.

Call Crime Stoppers with any information at 402-475-3600.  You can also contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
