Lincoln Police partnering with Nebraska State Patrol for Memorial Day Weekend

The Lincoln Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol are partnering in an effort to reduce traffic accidents and promote safe driving this Memorial Day Weekend.
It’s part of a traffic enforcement detail.
The objective: To conduct high visibility traffic enforcement to reduce illegal driving behavior and promote safe and responsible driving.
The project will take place between Friday, May 24th and Sunday, May 26th, with the main enforcement being on O Street between 17th and 84th Streets.
The Nebraska Highway Safety Office is providing overtime funding for increased enforcement during the enforcement.
Authorities say it’s their hope that by raising awareness, along with added enforcement, they can help reduce the number of traffic accidents resulting in injury or death.
