Lincoln Police respond to water restriction violations, no citations given yet

Lincoln Police have responded to seven calls related to water restriction violations. 

Five of the calls involved car washes, one was for automatic sprinklers running, and the other was for someone washing their car in a driveway. 

So far, LPD has not issued any citations. 

Instead, officers are educating business owners and citizens on the restrictions. 

Mayor Chris Beutler issued mandatory water restrictions for residents and business that remain in effect. 

Beutler reiterated that the city’s drinking water is safe.
