Lincoln Police say two people barred from owning guns had one in car

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two people banned from having guns were caught with one Saturday in Lincoln, police say.

Shortly after midnight, an officer pulled over a vehicle with no license plates or in-transit papers.

Police said the officer saw an open alcohol container, so they searched the vehicle.

The officer found a gun between the driver’s seat and the center console, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

Four plastic bags with drug residue were also in the vehicle, police said.

The driver, 30-year-old Darrion Cescolini was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He is a convicted felon, according to state court records.

The passenger, 33-year-old Jacee Quickbear, was arrested on suspicion of providing false information and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He was previously convicted of a violent misdemeanor and banned from possessing guns as part of his sentence, court documents say.

Quickbear also had a warrant for his arrest out of Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
