Lincoln Police: St Patrick’s Day enforcement results

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Five businesses were found to be in violation of their liquor license during the Lincoln Police Department’s detail on St. Patrick’s Day.

The special traffic enforcement detail was used in effort to reduce motor vehicle crashes under the influence.

Alcohol compliance checks were also conducted throughout the detail.

A total of 62 alcohol compliance checks were conducted at various licensed liquor establishments throughout the city.  Following the compliance checks, officers conducted a High Visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail, said Lincoln Police.

The results from the traffic enforcement detail:

  • Speeding Official Citations: 1
  • Speeding Warning Citations: 2
  • Traffic Signal Official Citations: 1
  • No Valid Registration Warning Citations: 8
  • Miscellaneous Traffic Official Citations: 1
  • Miscellaneous Traffic Warning Citations: 6
  • Carry Concealed Weapon: 1
  • DUI-Alcohol: 3
  • Liquor License Violation: 5
  • Total Citizen Contacts: 200

Funding for the special detail was provided by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
