Lincoln Police tase, arrest man for firing stolen gun

LPD arrested Harden for unlawful discharge of a firearm, use of a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a stolen firearm, theft by unlawful taking and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police tased and arrested a man who stole a gun and fired it in central Lincoln.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 29, a 25-year-old man noticed his 9mm pistol had been stolen after allowing 36-year-old Jason Harden to stay with him.

Shortly afterward around 1:30 a.m., officers received a call to the area around Antelope Valley Parkway and O Street on reports of Harden firing a gun.

Lincoln Police arrived in the area and found Harden holding the stolen pistol.

Officers told Harden to stop walking but he ignored them, eventually turned around and started to charge towards them, without the pistol.

Officers tased Harden and took him into custody. During a search of the area, officers found two fired casings from the stolen pistol.

LPD arrested Harden, a convicted felon from California, for unlawful discharge of a firearm, use of a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a stolen firearm, theft by unlawful taking and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
