Lincoln powerlifter shows strength, endurance after suffering rare spinal injury

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln powerlifter is rebuilding his strength after suffering a rare spinal injury three months ago.

One day, Francis “Tito” Vigan was working out when he bent over and couldn’t get back up.

The 34-year-old had suffered a rare stroke in his spinal cord, paralyzing him from the waist down.

But after months of rehab at Madonna Hospitals in Lincoln, he’s back to having a normal life.

“Do what you can do, just don’t give up on yourself,” Vigan said.

Francis hopes that with his continued work ethic, he will be able to walk normally again.
