Lincoln pride parade canceled after storm damages festival lot

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Star City Pride announced early Saturday morning that it is canceling its parade and some festival activities due to storm damage.
The festival began in the Haymarket on Friday afternoon but ended early after a severe thunderstorm.
Star City Pride said in a Facebook post that the festival lot was hit with heavy rain, strong wind and hail.
The audio and visual equipment on stage were ruined, the group said, and over a third of the vendor tents were lost.
Star City Pride is canceling sponsorship or vendor activities at the festival because of the damage to the lot.
The group said it is also canceling the pride parade due to “the potential for rain again tomorrow morning and the severity of what we have been left to clean up.”
Saturday’s entertainment will be moved to Das Haus.
“We know this is not an ideal situation, but we hope you can understand why we have decided to cancel and relocate Pride festivities for Saturday,” Star City Pride said.
