Lincoln Public Schools celebrates 15 years of family literacy program
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Public Schools is spotlighting a program that brings children and families together to learn.
In the district’s family literacy program, parents attend their child’s school for two hours a day.
Parents identify educational and career goals. It’s also a way for those learning English to practice with other parents.
Parents will also play, read and learn in their child’s classroom during the school day, according to the district.
LPS has provided adult literacy classes through the program for 15 years.
