Lincoln Public Schools features diverse voices at African American read-in
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Public Schools and Lincoln City Libraries hosted an African American read-in event Wednesday.
The event featured a diverse collection of presenters, who highlighted African American history, literature, arts and music.
Event coordinator Peter Ferguson said he was glad so many people gathered to honor something bigger than themselves.
He said Black stories and voices shouldn’t be limited to just Black History Month.
“The fact of the matter is we need to recognize individuals each and every day for the value that they bring to every space that they’re in,” he said.
