Lincoln radiologist stresses importance of yearly mammograms

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln radiologist is encouraging people to get a mammogram during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Dr. Samuel Braden, a radiologist with Bryan Health, said the screenings are crucial in detecting early signs of breast cancer.

“About three-fourths, or 75%, of breast cancers are in women who have no family history or predispositions to breast cancer,” he said.

The National Cancer Institute reported that mammograms can help reduce deaths from breast cancer among women ages 40 to 74.

You can find more information about mammograms on Bryan Health’s website.
