Lincoln restaurant offering free meals to flood victims

A Lincoln restaurant is offering free meals for any person or family displaced by the recent flooding.

“We had been watching then news and just thought what can we do to help? Really it’s the least we can do; offer to feed people who need something to eat and we would love to do that,” Chelsey Norval, co-owner of Luckie’s Lounge and Grill, said.

Norval and her fiance Scott Rowland own Luckie’s Lounge and Grill near Northwest 12th and West Adams streets in Lincoln.

The couple thought offering free meals would give families affect by by flood waters not only something to eat, but also a brief escape from the devastation.

Luckie’s will also be hosting a fundraiser to raise money for flood victims on Friday, March 29th.

“The dart tournament will be in conjunction with a silent auction. We’ve had a lot of people donating items for our silent auction,” Norval said.

The dart tournament will cost $10 to enter, all of which will be donated to flood relief. Luckie’s will also be matching half of the entry fee and donating it.

Several businesses including the Bourbon Theater, Feya Candle, and Lincoln Escape Room have donated items and passes to the silent auction.
