Lincoln restaurants using DoorDash boast highest 1-year survival rate in U.S.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln food scene is serving up some impressive numbers.
A new report from Axios said restaurants using DoorDash around the Capital City have a 97.3% survival rate after one year.
“We have a very stable community here in Lincoln, and a stable community makes it easier to support businesses that rely on disposable income,” said Robin Eschliman, co-host of Grow Lincoln.
For many restaurants, getting through that first year is what can make or break their business.
But according to Eschliman, Lincoln’s numbers are so high because of the public’s positive response.
“There is a lot of love for locally owned restaurants,” she said. “People really like that; they do attempt to support them. I think it’s a community that’s very responsible with their money.”
The Gourmet Grill is a hot spot on O Street, and the owner said everyone who comes in is very supportive.
“I have had this restaurant for more than 20 years. So it’s great people, I like serving the nice people of Lincoln, Nebraska,” George said.
