Lincoln Southwest boys win HAC soccer tournament
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Southwest boys soccer team defeated Lincoln East 3-0 on Thursday to claim the Heartland Athletic Conference tournament title.
The Silver Hawks got things started eight minutes into the first half, when Lane Kruse knocked it in for his 14th goal of the season.
Just eight minutes later, Caedmon Schwanke got the assist to Ryder Claypool before he drilled one in.
East fought hard for chances, having opportunities in the second half due to free kicks and corner kicks.
But Southwest goalkeeper Dylan Beiermann kept things scoreless, posting his seventh shutout of the season.
In the final seconds of the match, Southwest’s Erik Acton delivered the assist to Landon Holmberg for the third goal of the night.
Lincoln Southwest advances to 10-2 on the season.
