Lincoln Southwest girls win HAC soccer tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Southwest girls soccer team beat undefeated Lincoln East 1-0 on Wednesday night to win the Heartland Athletic Conference tournament.

Junior forward Charley Kort scored the winning goal with 13 minutes remaining in the first half.

East put the pressure on with a couple of scoring threats, including two free kicks, but Southwest senior goalkeeper Alexa Gobel and the Silver Hawks held strong.

“We’re a really close bunch, and it will just keep rolling from here,” Gobel said. “I’m really excited to see where the season takes us.”
