Lincoln students participating in national science competition

For some Lincoln students, it’s quite an accomplishment.

They’re taking part in a National Science Bowl competition.  It includes the Lux Middle School and East High School science bowl teams.

They left for nationals in D.C. Thursday.  They both won their state competitions.

The Lux team beat out 35 other schools from across the state to advance to nationals.

East High beat out 23 other teams.

“The best thing about being a part of this group has been their sense of humor and their work ethic,” Coach Jack Sundernam said.  “It’s just that they are very humble, hardworking, positive people and so for them to have the success that they’ve had has been it’s just kind of put an exclamation point on it.”

Teams consist of four students and an alternate team.  Students must possess an in–depth knowledge of science and math.
