Lincoln teachers honored Tuesday

Several Lincoln Public Schools teachers were honored at a special event on Tuesday.

It was all for the annual “Thank You Teacher” event. Five teachers were selected among 500 nominations for the honor. Students throughout the community wrote about how a favorite teacher has impacted their lives.

Julie Krueger teaches English at Southeast High School and says the honor is humbling.

“It really does mean the world,” said Krueger. “I’ve been doing this job for 20 years and I don’t even think of it as a job anymore. I just love getting up each morning, working with the kids, and hopefully making a difference.”
