Lincoln teen gets prison for plotting with girlfriend to kill her father
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A teenager was sentenced Friday for his role in a 2022 murder in south Lincoln.
Isaac Honigschmidt got 15 to 20 years in prison for aiding and abetting a felony and five to 10 years for evidence tampering.
The sentences will be served consecutively, but Judge Andrew Jacobson gave Honigschmidt credit for more than two years already spent behind bars.
Because of that, the 18-year-old could be eligible for parole in less than eight years.

The case began in October 2022, when 70-year-old Jesse Gilmer Jr. was found dead in his apartment near 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway.
He had several stab wounds, according to court documents.
Investigators determined that Sallie Gilmer — his daughter, then 15 — had killed him.

An arrest affidavit says she was tired of the “constant fighting” between her parents and the mental abuse from her father.
She and Honigschmidt, her boyfriend, planned the murder a week in advance, according to police.
Honigschmidt helped by giving Gilmer a ride from school to the apartment so she could stab her dad.
And he tried to make it look like they were in school at the time of the murder.
Gilmer was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced last month to 40 to 60 years in prison.
