Lincoln teen seriously injured in DUI hit-and-run

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man was arrested Saturday night after being accused of a DUI hit-and-run.
The Lincoln Police Department responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. on reports of a belated hit-and-run near South and 1st streets.
Police said a 19-year-old male was driving a small motorcycle when he was hit by a Ford Ranger pickup.
The victim suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries and was transported to Bryan West Hospital.
Daren Gillespie, 49, left the scene and was found 45 minutes later at his residence near 48th Street and Old Cheney Road, according to LPD.
Police said Gillespie admitted to hitting something while driving and leaving the scene.
LPD arrested Gillespie and he was charged with an aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
Gillespie was lodged in Lancaster County Jail.
