Lincoln thrift shop opens impressive storefront display

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Transformations Thrift Store in the Everett neighborhood (1241 S. 14th) put together a new storefront display that will stop anyone passing by.

It features Kermit the frog in one half of the store and a giant rainbow in the other. The designer of the display, Andrea Mailand, says she wanted to make something that brought hope to people walking by, while also bringing people into the store.

“Be hopeful — that’s the point of the giant rainbow in the other window. Just hope and peace and that kindness is possible even in the middle of so much drama in the world and disagreements amongst people and belief systems and stuff like that,” Mailand, the creative director for Transformations, said.

Transformations Thrift Store was created to support the ministry of Atlas Lincoln, which is an adult mentoring ministry. Atlas of Lincoln was started in August of 2018, just one year before the thrift shop opened. Atlas provides a positive environment for individuals and families in times of need.
