Lincoln U-Stop employee comes to his co-worker’s rescue during a shoplifting incident

Steven Cornell had to come to his co-worker’s rescue when a shoplifter tried to steal from his store.

“I was in the restroom and I heard my coworker screaming for help, and I come out to find her pinned against the wall and screaming to call the police so I tackled him to the ground until the police got here,” Steven Cornell a worker at the U-Stop said.

It happened at the U-Stop near 21st and K street, Steven Cornell heard his female co-worker scream that there was a shoplifter and he jumped into action.

Cornell held the suspect down until police came and arrested him.

Police said the suspect was trying to steal vaping supplies from the U-Stop.
