LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested after she was found with stolen mail and methamphetamine on Friday, Lincoln Police say.

Around 3:15 p.m., a man found mail missing from his mailbox near NW 10th Street and W Harvest Drive.  A USPS mail carrier told the man his mailbox was open, according to Lincoln Police.

At this time, the mail carrier noticed a blue sedan with tinted windows driving around the area.

Around 3:30 p.m., a 62-year-old female in the same area found that mail had been stolen from her mailbox.  The mail stolen included her credit card information and found out someone was trying to use her credit card to transfer money, Lincoln Police say.

One of the names involved in the transfer attempt was Undreia Garza, according to Lincoln Police.  Officers located the 31-year-old near N 9th Street and Gabber Avenue in a vehicle that matched the description from the mail carrier.

Officers then saw the stolen mail in Garza’s vehicle and conducted a search.  They found 16.1 grams of methamphetamine, forged checks, blank checks and a printer/laptop that had been used to create the forged checks, Lincoln Police say.

LPD arrested Garza on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and criminal possession of more than four financial transaction devices.
