Lincoln woman arrested after threatening roommate with handgun, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was arrested Saturday after police say she threatened her roommate with a gun.

Lori Leafty, 46, was arrested on suspicion of terroristic threats and use of a handgun to commit a felony.

Just before 3:30 p.m., officers were sent to a home near 58th Street and Huntington Avenue.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, Leafty threatened her roommate after firing one round from a handgun in the house.

When officers arrived, they found Leafty in her vehicle trying to leave the scene, LPD said.

Leafty was cooperative and taken into custody without incident.

LPD said nobody was physically harmed during the shooting or the arrest.

According to police, a handgun was found inside the home.
