Lincoln woman arrested following lengthy embezzlement investigation, police say

Anna Warner

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln woman was arrested on Wednesday after police say she spent nearly $15,000 of Morely Elementary Parent Teacher Organization funds for personal use.

The PTO Treasurer, 42-year-old Anna Warner, was booked into the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking of $5,000 or more.

On July 8, 2025, the Lincoln Police Department took a report of possible embezzlement from the organization.

After a lengthy investigation, authorities determined Warner used a total of $14,829.98 on dozens of purchases from Amazon and Target between March 2023 and May 2025.

LPD said she also made credit card payments, and the money was not used for PTO events, teacher gifts or school functions.
