Lincoln woman arrested for dui, possession of methamphetamine

YORK, Neb. (KLKN) — The York County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) arrested a Lincoln woman after finding drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, a YCSO K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 80 for a traffic violation.

While making contact with the driver, the deputy observed multiple indicators that she was impaired. The driver also admitted to having drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The driver was then arrested and participated in a drug influence evaluation. According to YCSO, a drug recognition expert believed the drive was under a combined influence of a CNS stimulant and cannabis.

After a search of the vehicle, deputies found a used methamphetamine pipe with residue, a small bag containing a small amount of methamphetamine and a used syringe.

Alena Moniz of Lincoln was arrested and lodged for possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
