Lincoln woman ‘carried out a plan’ to kill husband in 2023, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested Friday in the killing of her husband in 2023, police say.
Amanda Wright, 41, was taken into custody and lodged at the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
On Aug. 23, officers found 38-year-old Zachary Svoboda dead at a home near 48th and Adams streets.
An autopsy showed Svoboda died from acute intoxication due to methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to police.
Investigators later learned that Wright had “devised and ultimately carried out a plan” to kill her husband, police said.
A drug investigation led to Wright’s arrest on April 25.
A Lancaster County judge set her bond at $500,000, meaning she must pay $50,000 to be released from jail.
Investigators are working with the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office in the ongoing investigation.
