Lincoln woman caught with 7 ounces of meth in her purse sent to prison
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was sentenced to federal prison Tuesday for her role in a meth ring, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.
Angelica Agena, 41, will spend 4½ years in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard also sentenced her to five years of post-prison supervised release.
Agena was arrested during a traffic stop outside Lincoln on June 29, 2022.
Lancaster County sheriff’s deputies pulled over a Camaro near Highway 6 and 98th Street for a broken taillight.
There was on open alcohol container inside the car, authorities said, prompting a search.
Deputies found 7 ounces of meth in Agena’s purse.
Sheriff Terry Wagner said at the time that the bag had enough meth for 812 doses.
Investigators searched Payton’s and Agena’s phones and found out that they were involved in meth distribution in the Lincoln and Omaha areas, authorities said.
Agena was convicted in November.
Payton pleaded and was sentenced in June to six years in prison.
