Lincoln woman caught with meth in traffic stop is sentenced to 15 years in prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman will spend over a decade in prison after she was found with meth in a traffic stop last year.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 46-year-old Maggie Welling was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute meth with a prior serious drug felony.
On March 25, 2022, Welling was pulled over by an officer with the Lincoln Police Department.
The officer searched the vehicle after seeing drug paraphernalia inside, the attorney’s office said.
There was 221 grams of meth in Welling’s purse.
After being released from prison, Welling will serve a 10-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
