Lincoln woman charged in stabbing; dispute was over who let the dog out, police say

LINCOLN, NEB. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was charged Monday with second-degree assault in a weekend stabbing.
The stabbing happened near Northwest 16th and O Streets early Saturday morning.
When officers arrived on the scene, the victim was sitting on the porch with a knife wound.
A woman later identified as Pamela Graves, 51, was ordered out of the house and arrested.
The victim told the police that he had been out playing poker with friends when Graves texted him that his dog had escaped.
When the victim arrived, the gate was open. Police said he went to confront Graves, accusing her of leaving the gate open on purpose so the dog could run away.
He went to sit on the couch, still arguing with Graves about the dog.
Graves then went to the kitchen to grab a knife, according to the affidavit.
She used it to stab him once in the right calf, leaving a one-inch wound, the affidavit alleges.
The victim was taken to Bryan West Medical Center for treatment.
The police said Graves’ story changed multiple times throughout their interaction.
The bond for Graves was set at $60,000. She must pay 10% to be released.
Her next court date is set for May 16.
