Lincoln woman dead after early morning crash on Highway 77, sheriff’s office says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One person is dead after a crash at the intersection of Highway 77 and Pella Road early Saturday morning, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the crash was reported about 6:30 a.m., but they’re still investigating when exactly it happened.
The sheriff’s office said a Chevy Malibu, driven by 32-year-old Megan Allen of Lincoln, was headed south on Highway 77.
LSO said the car then left the road and hit a cement culvert in a ditch near the intersection.
The car then rolled, became airborne, and landed upside down in a ditch south of Pella Road, officials said.
Allen was the only person in the car, and she was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities said she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened, and they don’t suspect alcohol was involved.
The crash is still under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
