Lincoln woman killed in crash on highway in Saunders County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash in rural Saunders County, the sheriff’s office says.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 3:35 p.m. on Highway 79, just north of Prague.

The sheriff’s office said a Honda Civic, driven by 25-year-old Rebekah Guilford of Lincoln, was heading north on Highway 79.

Guilford’s vehicle had crossed the center line, swerved and hit the front of a southbound Lincoln MKZ, according to investigators.

The sheriff’s office said Guilford was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the MKZ were taken to a hospital in Lincoln with “multiple injuries,” officials said.

Investigators noted that seatbelts were in use and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
