Lincoln woman killed in crash with semi in South Dakota
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was killed last Wednesday in a crash near Brookings, South Dakota, officials said.
A preliminary investigation showed that a semi-truck rear-ended a Chevy Equinox that was stopped in the road on Interstate 29.
The Chevy went into a ditch before it came to rest against a sign, according to officials.
The semi also went into the ditch before it came to a rest on railroad tracks.
Kelley Rodriguez, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, officials said.
The driver of the semi suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to officials.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
