Lincoln woman killed in crash with semi on I-80 in Iowa
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash in Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. on Interstate 80, just north of Walnut, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
A semitrailer was stopped in the left lane due to a crash, the patrol said in a crash report.
A Honda Odyssey was heading west when the driver failed to slow down and hit the semi.
The patrol said the minivan spun out and struck the trailer of another vehicle.
The driver, 45-year-old Emma Gonzalez Maldonado of Lincoln, died in the crash. An 18-year-old passenger was taken to a hospital in Harlan, Iowa.
