Friends and family of Jessica Brandon gathered at Lincoln Berean Church in South Lincoln Monday afternoon to remember her.

It’s been almost a week since the mother and grandmother was killed.

"I’m mad and I’m angry but most of all I’m sad because she’s not going to be here," said friend Melissa Wagner.

Brandon was shot last Tuesday in an apparent home invasion near 20th and Fairfield and died just an hour later at the hospital.

Lincoln Police said they do have persons of interest in the case, but have not released any additional information.

"Investigative details have established that the invasion into the home and the deplorable violence that followed was not random," said Chief Jeff Bliemeister.

As police continue to investigate, friends of Brandon are rallying around her family.

A GoFundMe page has been set up and has raised more than $6,000 for the family.

Friends are also selling t–shirts with Brandon’s picture and donating half of the proceeds.

We spoke with another friend of Brandon’s who did not want to be on camera.

"Obviously being able have a t shirt with her face and family on it you know reminding us of her every day and also just to support the family and knowing that they’re not alone through this," said Carissa Craft

Lincoln Police are expected to provide an update on the investigation tomorrow morning.
