Lincoln woman killed in Otoe County crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was killed Friday in a crash near Palmyra, the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jennifer Hughes, 37, was turning east from Highway 43 onto Highway 2 when she was struck by a westbound truck.

Hughes was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the truck, an 84-year-old Lincoln man, was taken to a local hospital.

The sheriff’s office and the Nebraska State Patrol are investigating the crash.
