Lincoln woman missing ‘under suspicious circumstances,’ police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police are seeking help in their search for a woman who went missing last month.
Jerica Hamre, 30, was last seen on June 25 at her home near 33rd Street and Huntington Avenue.
Police said Hamre disappeared “under suspicious circumstances.”
A friend of Jerica, Becki Bennetts, said Jerica was assaulted by her roommates days before she went missing but never pressed charges.
“She had called me and told me that she had gotten jumped,” Bennetts said. “And we video-chat every day, so something in me told me to screenshot what she had looked like because it was so sad. She had bruises all over and a broken nose.”
Jerica didn’t enjoy her living situation, according to Bennetts.
“She told me it wasn’t working out again the way she thought it would,” she said. “I never heard from her after that.”
Bennetts said it is odd for Jerica to not reach out or be on social media.
“She’s one of those girls that would post, like, 10 things a day at least,” she said. “She was very active on TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, everything.”
Investigators have been interviewing multiple people and examining digital evidence while trying to find Hamre.
She is 5-foot-1, 245 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or 911 in an emergency.
