Lincoln woman out $3,000 after “sugar daddy” scam

A 21-year-old woman lost $3,000 in a scam after police said she met a man named Frank on a website called “Seeking Arrangements.”

Officer Angela Sands said the website is for women searching for a “sugar daddy.”

The victim told police she was communicating with Frank and he offered to put $3,000 in her checking account, but he deposited $4,500.

Sands said Frank asked her to refund his $1,500 in eBay giftcards. He said if she didn’t do it he would report her to the Department of Defense. That scared her so she sent $3,000 via PayPal to a variety of email address he gave her.

After she sent the money she learned his deposit into her account was fraudulent, Sands said.
