Lincoln woman sentenced on meth charge stemming from sting operation
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln woman was sentenced in federal court Wednesday after getting caught with about a pound of meth.
Dacia Leytham, 32, got 15 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with a serious prior drug felony conviction.
In August 2022, Leytham agreed to sell meth to undercover investigators at the Red Roof Inn near 27th and Superior streets, police said.
When they arrived, investigators searched her backpack and found at least 430 grams of pure meth, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Leytham admitted to selling about 10 ounces of meth over the past month.
In 2019, Leytham was sentenced in Douglas County for distribution of meth. She was released on parole in September 2020.
After her federal prison sentence, she will serve 10 years on supervised release.
There is no parole in the federal system.
