LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was targeted on Tuesday by two scammers who were posing as a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office sergeant and lieutenant.

The Lincoln Police Department was dispatched to Bryan Health just before 5 p.m. on a report of someone making threats.

The victim said she received a phone call from someone identifying as Sgt. Gaston with the sheriff’s office.

The male told her she missed a court date and had two warrants for her arrest.

She was instructed to withdraw money from her bank, then open another bank account.

The woman quicky realized this was a scam and did not comply.

She then received another phone call from someone identifying as Lt. Vik with the sheriff’s office.

This male told her that she needed to pay $15,140.

When the victim refused to do this, the male threatened her and her family.
