Lincoln woman who carried meth in breast milk bags is sent to prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was sentenced Thursday after accidentally dropping her meth at a convenience store.
Merry Barbara Bills, 42, got more than 10 years in prison, without parole, for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams of methamphetamine and an unspecified amount of marijuana.
She will serve a five-year term of supervised release afterward, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Bills was arrested on Nov. 26, 2023, after leaving four breast milk bags, each containing about 33 grams of meth, at a Lincoln convenience store.
Security video showed her and a man arrived at the store the night before. As she got out of the car, Bills dropped a bag holding the four breast milk bags.
The pair left about 20 minutes after, failing to realize what happened. This is when the clerk saw the bag and reached out to the Lincoln Police Department.
Bills and her companion then returned about 10 minutes later and were seen searching for something.
They came back again a couple hours later, and the clerk called LPD to let them know of Bills’ return.
She was found in the bathroom with two more bags of meth.
All the meth found weighed a total of about 6 ounces.
