Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department investigating Von Busch and Sons, Refuse

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department told Channel 8 Eyewitness News they’ve been receiving complaints all week from residents who say their trash is still sitting at their homes.

All of the complaints were from customers of Von Busch and Sons, Refuse. Many of them are in the West A area.

Health department officials say because of the high temperatures, they’re concerned the waste isn’t being properly disposed of.

Channel 8 Eyewitness News spoke with dozens of people today who say they’re still waiting for their garbage to be hauled away.

“I give them the benefit of the doubt the first time, I thought they were struggling and I’d stick with them but I don’t think so this time because they said they would be here in a couple days but the grass is still here,” Lincoln resident, Janette Mefford said.

Mefford says the garbage service normally would pick up trash twice a week but now she’s lucky to see them in 2 weeks.

The company posted a message to customers on their website:

We sincerely apologize for the inconsistencies in your service level. We are not trying to make any excuses, however, we are working diligently to get everything caught up and back on track.

We appreciate your patience, and understanding.

As always, we appreciate and value your business.

Channel 8 Eyewitness News briefly spoke with the owner and will have more on Thursday.
