Lincoln’s annual Heart Ball celebrates 100th anniversary of American Heart Association

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Supporters of the American Heart Association congregated Saturday to celebrate 100 years of the organization.

The Lincoln chapter put together its annual gala to help spread awareness of heart disease.

The Heart Ball also highlighted the impact of donations and support from the previous year.

The director of the local heart association, Ella Salem, spoke on the significance of the event.

“Part of it is a celebration of the funds and the community impact work and the clinical work that’s already been happening over the past year,” Salem said.

Survivors of heart disease told the crowd about how donations helped save their lives this year.

Organizers served dinner to the attendees and hosted a band and live auction.
