LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A popular disc golf course in Lincoln is earning world-wide recognition for the second year in a row, officials announced Wednesday.

The Beal Slough Disc Golf Course near 60th Street and Pine Lake Road was ranked No. 70 in UDisc’s annual World’s Best Disc Golf Courses Top 100.

The coure was ranked at No. 88 in last year’s list.

“We’re thrilled to have Beal Slough recognized as the 70th best disc golf course in the world – our second time making the top 100,” said Maggie Stuckey-Ross, Lincoln Parks and Recreation’s director. “This honor is a testament to Lincoln and Nebraska’s growing disc golf community. This recognition wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of the Lincoln Flying Disc Club volunteers, whose vision and passion have made this achievement a reality.”

James Fleege, the Lincoln Flying Disc Golf Course Club president, said the course is hosting the Star City Classic, the state’s largest disc golf tournament, in May.

The course is also being included in the Disc Golf Pro Tour Qualifying Series.

“Both events are incredible opportunities to showcase a great course,” Fleege said.
