LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Bennett Martin Public Library will temporarily close next week for a carpet replacement project.

City officials said the library will be closed from Feb. 14 to 16 as crews replace the first floor’s carpet.  Regular hours will resume on Feb. 17.

Ryan Wieber, director of Lincoln City Libraries, said the project is a “necessary step” to improve the quality of the facility.

“We understand that this closure may inconvenience some of our valued patrons, and we apologize for any disruption this may cause,” he said in a press release. “However, we assure you that this temporary closure will result in a more comfortable and inviting library space for everyone to enjoy.”

During the closure, people are encouraged to use the library’s digital resources.  All other Lincoln libraries will be open.
