Little Lincolnite shares big message to help others
A 6-year-old and her mom are reviving a t-shirt design to spread kindness to elders.

LINCOLN, Neb.(KLKN) — In June, Lydia Carlson saw the protest happening at the Capitol and decided to make a sign. It read ‘Be nice and be kind to everyone’. Little did she know, the sign would have a major impact.
Her mother, Jessica Coleman, decided to turn Lydia’s sign into a T-Shirt, donating all the profits to local non-profits. After weeks of selling, the family raised almost $2,000 and gave it all away to places like the The Malone Center, The Lincoln Police Department and others.
The giving didn’t stop there. Coleman recently had the idea to give people the chance to buy a shirt again, this time for a different cause. The proceeds would go to purchasing bouquets of flowers for seniors in assisted living facilities. Knowing residents had been hit hard by COVID and isolation, the family wanted to find a way to brighten their spirits.
On top of the flowers, Lydia’s class is making hand made cards addressed to each resident, with a message of hope.
If you’d like to help Jessica and Lydia in their donations, you can purchase a T-shirt, the link will be open until December 20th.
