LNK board requires Red Way to pay refunds before receiving final payment
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Airport Authority on Thursday authorized the final payment of federal COVID-19 relief money to the defunct airline Red Way — on one condition.
Red Way will only get the $702,300 if it refunds all the passengers whose flights were canceled. Last month, 600 customers were still waiting for refunds.
“With today’s actions we are taking steps to assist the remaining Red Way customers who have not received refund,” John Olsson, chairman of the Airport Authority board, said in a press release.

The board made the decision after receiving the results of an independent audit.
The audit found discrepancies in the invoices, but overall, they actually resulted in an underbilling of LNK.
