Local dog wins Best of Breed at Westminster Dog Show

A terrier from Garland, Nebraska is more than just a good dog.
The six-year-old Parson Russell Terrier won best in breed at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show last week.
“I’d say it’s like the super bowl of dog shows,” Tricia Stancyzk, Jinx’s handler said.
She’s shown Jinx consistently for the last few years but has been showing dogs as a hobby for more than 20 years. But said this is the most successful one of her dogs has been.
She described the day as “exciting, terrifying, thrilling, all at the same time.”
It is a lot of work.
Stancyzk spends countless weekends at dog shows and hours training Jinx every day; and it all paid off.
“She showed like a million bucks, I couldn’t have asked her to do a better job,” she said.
Jinx didn’t have much to say about her big win but Stancyzk said she was very happy with the new toys and treats she got after.
As for Jinx’s future in the show-ring, Stancyzk said she’ll still get to strut her stuff, though now that they’ve won, they’re aiming to have fun.
